Here’s an in-depth Dish Network review and a DirecTV review that will help you decide which service is the right one for you. Both DirecTV and Dish Network have been battling for satellite supremacy for the past few years and have been under threat from Internet Protocol Television. Nevertheless, both offer great packages and both have their advantages to their services. In this blog review, I will be highlighting the advantages that Dish Network has over DirecTV. Channel Packages First off, both the Dish Network and DirecTV have five different channel packages all being varied at different prices. Dish Network offers a Smart Pack of 55+ channels at $19.99 a month for 12 months, with the regular price being $32.99; whereas the entertainment package is 140+ channels at $34.99 per month for 12 months, the regular price being $57.99 at DirecTV. So this is a savings of $480 when comparing these two similar packages. The America’s Top 120 which is 190+ channels at Dish Network is $29.99 a month for 12 months, and the 150+ choice channels is $39.99 a month for 12 months at DirecTV. This gives you a savings of $264 a month.  Similarly this goes on for the other packages, saving you $108 on the 235+ channel package, $84 on the 290+ channel package, and $156 on the 320+ channel package if you were to go with the Dish Network.  Dish Network allows you to save money as the long term savings of basic programming outweighs the short term benefit of the expanded services that you would get with the DirecTV packages. Additional Features In addition to this, Dish Network has other advantages which include the following: 1.Dish Network does offer a month-to-month service which is good for those who rent, or people who are not looking for long term living expenses.  You can do a longer contract with the Dish network but the option for a shorter one is there, whereas with DirecTV you must have a 12-24 month contract. 2.Dish Network has more options than DirecTV with respect to the amount of channels within their programming packages. The Dish Network offers a basic programming package whereas DirecTV does not and forces their subscribers to buy into the minimum 200 channel package. 3.Dish Network offers a simple set up, basic programming, and short term investment if wanted.  DirecTV is more for people who like add-ons, portability, and need high definition channels. In the end, if you are looking for a satellite provider that gives more for its pricing, has better options when it comes to long term savings and short term investments, and offers basic programming for those who do not need all those extra entertainment channels, then the Dish Network wins on being the best satellite provider.  Here’s an in- depth Dish Network review and a DirecTV review. The bottom line is that Dish Network has more programming, a more advance DVR receiver, and is cheaper than DirecTV. However, DirecTV has more sports packages, and the standard packages they offer may be more to your liking, so you need to do some research before you decide to purchase a subscription to either one.
